{good people}
So often people, especially those involved in the Church, get so wrapped up in how bad this world is, how so many people lack empathy and a general sense of caring. This past year in particular I have learned two things. The first is that there are some really crazy people out there, the second is that for every crazy person out there, there is about a hundred people who would give you the shirt off their very back.
This world is filled with so many good, loving and caring people -- many of these people have flooded our lives.
Thanks.

{conversations}
The other night as I laid in bed I had a conversation with God. This is how it went.
Me: "What the heck are you thinking God -- I'm about to go insane!"
God: "trust me."
Me: "No."
God: "just trust me."
Me: "No."
God: "Karen, loose the attitude and just trust me a little."
Me: "ok -- but I'm still not very happy."
Sometimes I just need to be real with God. I know he knows what he is doing but it doesn't change they way I, as a human, feel and respond. I guess sometimes I just need to trust and have faith despite what my human mind in feeling and thinking. His ways are not mine -- and I'm sure there are many people who are very grateful for that fact.

{So Bored}
Here we are again. Room 14 at duPont Children's Hospital. I knew it was coming but it just wasn't any easier. Originally I has thought that a nice long stay at home (3 weeks) would give me a mental boost and make our next stay easier -- I was wrong. I realized how much I love for my little boy to no longer suffer. I am really tired of raising my children in this hospital -- but then again I still have both my children to raise and for that I'm eternally grateful.
I've been trying to come up with way to bust this boredom -- no such luck yet. Any ideas?
Tomorrow is the BIG launch of my new site! I'm super excited and I hope you all will drop by for a visit!

{the evolution of my coffee}
I noticed this morning that things are changing -- my morning cup of coffee to be exact. My original drink of choice was coffee and creamer, plain and simple. I then graduated to Starbucks and my addiction to the skinny vanilla latte began, which was later follow by "hold the foam" -- just don't like it. This week I reached a new phase in my coffee evolution -- 140. That's one hundred forty degrees to be specific. That my temp of choice and I'm not afraid to order it.
I guess this is some kind of attempt to find some sense of control in my life. These days are tough and sitting here at duPont Children's Hospital next to Gavin watching him get blood is a brutal reminder of the "toughness." Like every other hurdled -- we will get over it, one at a time.
I'm sure my coffee will suffer for it -- or should I say my friendly neighborhood Batista will suffer for it.
Until Next Time...
